They surrounded me like water all day long; They close in upon me altogether.

The cords of death were around me, And the pains of She’ol came upon me; I found distress and sorrow.

“Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, The stream would have gone over our being;

For dogs have surrounded Me; A crowd of evil ones have encircled Me, Piercing My hands and My feet;

Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and breakers passed over me.

“The chiefs of Yehuḏah shall be like those who remove a border – on them I pour out my wrath like water.
