יהוה, why do You reject me? Why do You hide Your face from me?

Why do You hide Your face, and reckon me as Your enemy?

How long would You forget me, O יהוה? Forever? How long would You hide Your face from me?

For You are the Elohim of my strength. Why have You rejected me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

Why do You hide Your face, Ignoring our affliction and our oppression?

Yet You have rejected us and put us to shame, And You do not go with our armies.

For You are not an Ěl taking delight in wrong, Nor does evil dwell with You.

And do not hide Your face from Your servant, For I am in distress; Answer me speedily.

And about the ninth hour יהושע cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Ěli, Ěli, lemah sheḇaqtani?” that is, “My Ěl, My Ěl, why have You forsaken Me?”
