He delivered me from my strong enemy, And from those hating me, For they were stronger than I.
Then Dawiḏ spoke to יהוה the words of this song, on the day when יהוה had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Sha’ul.
“He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those hating me, For they were stronger than I.
He has torn in His wrath, and He hates me. He has gnashed at me with His teeth; my adversary sharpens His eyes upon me.
יהוה is for me among those helping me; Therefore I look on those hating me.
Though I walk in the midst of distress, You revive me; You stretch out Your hand Against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand saves me.
“Listen to my cry, For I am brought very low; Deliver me from my persecutors, For they are too strong for me.
Send forth Your hand from above; Rescue me and deliver me out of great waters, From the hand of foreigners,
Rĕsh See how many my enemies have become; And they hate me with a violent hatred.
Let all my bones say, “יהוה, who is like You, Delivering the poor from one stronger than he, And the poor and the needy from him who robs him?”
But my enemies are alive; They have become strong; And those hating me falsely are many.
Ḥet Show favour to me, O יהוה! See my affliction by those who hate me, You who lift me up from the gates of death,
But his subjects were hating him, and sent a delegation after him, to say, ‘We do not wish this one to reign over us.’ ”
