But those who rebuke the wrong, It is pleasant, and a good blessing comes on them.

Reprove those who are sinning, in the presence of all, so that the rest also might fear.


He who reproves a man finds more favour afterward Than he who flatters with the tongue.


Speak these matters, urge, and convict with all authority. Let no one despise you.


This witness is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, in order for them to be sound in the belief,


for Yoḥanan had said to him, “It is not right for you to have her.”


And one of the sons of Yoyaḏa, son of Elyashiḇ the high priest, was a son-in-law of Sanballat the Ḥoronite. And I drove him from me.


Then I contended with them and cursed them, and struck some of them and pulled out their hair, and made them swear by Elohim, saying, “You do not give your daughters as wives to their sons, nor take their daughters for your sons or yourselves.


Then I contended with the nobles of Yehuḏah, and said to them, “What evil matter is this that you are doing, profaning the Sabbath day?


“For I have declared to him that I am judging his house forever for the crookedness which he knows, because his sons cursed Elohim, and he did not rebuke them.


‘Do not hate your brother in your heart. Reprove your neighbour, for certain, and bear no sin because of him.


Proclaim the Word! Be urgent in season, out of season. Convict, warn, appeal, with all patience and teaching.


He who gives a right answer kisses the lips.
