He who is patient is better than the mighty, And he who rules over his spirit than he who takes a city.

So then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath,


A man of wrath stirs up strife, But he who is patient appeases strife.


A man who has no control over his spirit Is like a broken-down city without a wall.


He who is patient has great understanding, But he who is short of spirit exalts folly.


Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

The end of a matter is better than its beginning. The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.


Through patience a ruler is persuaded, And a soft tongue shatters a bone.


Do not be hasty in your spirit to be vexed, for vexation rests in the bosom of fools.
