Numbers 4:15

“And when Aharon and his sons have finished covering the set-apart objects and all the furnishings of the Set-apart Place at the breaking of camp, then the sons of Qehath shall come to lift them, but let them not touch that which is set-apart, lest they die. These matters are the burden of the sons of Qehath in the Tent of Appointment.

And see, Tsaḏoq also came, and all the Lĕwites with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of Elohim. And they set down the ark of Elohim, and Eḇyathar went up until all the people completed passing over from the city.

And it came to be, when those bearing the ark of יהוה had gone six steps, that he slaughtered bulls and fatted sheep.

And all the elders of Yisra’ĕl came, and the priests took up the ark,

And the children of the Lĕwites bore the ark of Elohim on their shoulders, by its poles, as Mosheh had commanded according to the word of יהוה.

Then Dawiḏ said, “No one is to lift the ark of Elohim but the Lĕwites, for יהוה has chosen them to lift the ark of Elohim and to serve Him forever.”

and also of the Lĕwites, “They shall no longer bear the Dwelling Place, or any of the vessels for its service.”

“And you shall make a border for the people all around, saying, ‘Take heed to yourselves that you do not go up to the mountain or touch the border of it. Whoever touches the mountain shall certainly be put to death.

And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Go down, and warn the people, lest they break through unto יהוה to see, and many of them fall.

“And the poles shall be put in the rings, and the poles shall be on the two sides of the slaughter-place for lifting it.

“And he shall put the incense on the fire before יהוה, and the cloud of incense shall cover the lid of atonement which is on the Witness, lest he die.

“Instead, appoint the Lĕwites over the Dwelling Place of the Witness, over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They bear the Dwelling Place and all its furnishings, and they attend to it, and camp around the Dwelling Place.

“And when the Dwelling Place is to go forward, the Lĕwites take it down. And when the Dwelling Place is to be set up, the Lĕwites set it up. And the stranger who comes near is put to death.

And the Qehathites departed, bearing the set-apart objects, while the Dwelling Place was set up before they came.

“And they shall guard your charge, and the duty of all the Tent, but they do not come near the furnishings of the set-apart place and the slaughter-place, lest they die, both they and you.

And those who were to camp before the Dwelling Place on the east, before the Tent of Appointment, were Mosheh and Aharon, and his sons, guarding the duty of the set-apart place, and the duty of the children of Yisra’ĕl. But the stranger who came near was to be put to death.

and shall put on it all its utensils by which they serve there: the fire holders, the forks, and the shovels, and the basins, and all the utensils of the slaughter-place, and shall spread on it a covering of fine leather, and insert its poles.

“but do this to them, and they shall live and not die when they approach the most set-apart objects: Aharon and his sons shall go in and appoint each of them to his service and his burden.

They are not, however, to go in to watch while the set-apart objects are being covered, lest they die.”

But to the sons of Qehath he gave none, because theirs was the service of the set-apart objects, which they bore on their shoulders.

And Mosheh wrote this Torah and gave it to the priests, the sons of Lĕwi, who bore the ark of the covenant of יהוה, and to all the elders of Yisra’ĕl.

And the priests who bore the ark stood in the midst of the Yardĕn until every matter was finished that יהוה had commanded Yehoshua to speak to the people, according to all that Mosheh had commanded Yehoshua. And the people hastened and passed over.

And He struck among the men of Bĕyth Shemesh, for they had looked into the ark of יהוה. He struck among the people seventy men, and the people mourned because יהוה struck among the people, a great smiting.
