After him Neḥemyah son of Azbuq, ruler of half the district of Bĕyth Tsur, strengthened as far as opposite the burial-sites of Dawiḏ, and to the man-made pool, and as far as the house of the mighty men.

Men and brothers, let me speak boldly to you of the ancestor Dawiḏ, that he died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.


And at his hand Shallum son of Halloḥĕsh ruler of half the district of Yerushalayim strengthened, he and his daughters.


And at their hand Rephayah son of Ḥur, ruler of half the district of Yerushalayim, strengthened.

And the Dung Gate was strengthened by Malkiyah son of Rĕḵaḇ, ruler of the district of Bĕyth Hakkerem. He built it and set up its doors, its bolts and bars.

See, it is Shelomoh’s couch – Sixty mighty men are around it, Of the mighty men of Yisra’ĕl,


And they buried him in his burial-site, which he had made for himself in the City of Dawiḏ. And they laid him in the bed which was filled with spices and various kinds of ointments mixed by the perfumer’s skill. And they made a very great burning for him.


and Bĕyth Tsur, and Soḵo, and Aḏullam,


And the son of Shammai was Ma‛on, and Ma‛on was the father of Bĕyth Tsur.


After him the Lĕwites, Reḥum son of Bani, strengthened. At his hand strengthened Ḥashaḇyah, ruler of half the district of Qe‛ilah, for his district.


I made pools of water for myself, to water from them a plantation of growing trees.


And you saw the breaches of the city of Dawiḏ, that it was great. And you gathered together the waters of the lower pool.


And I went on to the Fountain Gate and to the Sovereign’s Pool, but there was no room for the beast that was under me to pass.
