The voice of one crying in the wilderness, “Prepare the way of יהוה; make straight in the desert a highway for our Elohim.

“Are you not the Mitsrian who some time ago stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand assassins out into the wilderness?

And in those days Yoḥanan the Immerser came proclaiming in the wilderness of Yehuḏah,

“See, I have forewarned you.

For as the lightning comes from the east and shines to the west, so also shall the coming of the Son of Aḏam be.
