And His taught ones asked Him, saying, “Why then do the scribes say that Ěliyahu has to come first?”

“And if you wish to accept it, he is Ěliyahu who was about to come.

And they said, “Some say Yoḥanan the Immerser, and others Ěliyahu, and others Yirmeyahu or one of the prophets.”

And יהושע answering, said to them, “Ěliyahu is indeed coming first, and shall restore all.

And they asked Him, saying, “Why do the scribes say that Ěliyahu has to come first?”

And they asked him, “What then, are you Ěliyahu?” So he said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.”

and they asked him, saying, “Why then do you immerse if you are not the Messiah, nor Ěliyahu, nor the Prophet?”
