‘And a man who strikes the being of any man shall certainly be put to death.

And Dawiḏ said to Nathan, “I have sinned against יהוה.” And Nathan said to Dawiḏ, “Also, יהוה has put away your sin, you shall not die.

So they took hold of her, and she went by way of the horses’ entrance to the sovereign’s house, and was put to death there.

“You do not murder.

‘And he who strikes a beast repays it, and he who strikes a man to death is put to death.

But if he has stricken him with an instrument of iron, so that he dies, he is a murderer. The murderer shall certainly be put to death.

Cursed is he who strikes his neighbour secretly.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amĕn!’

You do not murder.
