For Iyoḇ has said, ‘I am righteous, but Ěl has taken away my right.
For You know that I am not wrong, and there is no one to deliver from Your hand.
Since you have said, ‘My discourse is flawless, and I have been clean in Your eyes.’
Look, please, I have prepared my case, I know that I am in the right.
though no violence was on my hand, and my prayer sincere.
See, I cry, ‘Violence!’ but I am not heard. I cry aloud, but there is no right-ruling.
“As Ěl lives, who has turned aside my right-ruling, and the Almighty, who has made my life bitter,
I put on righteousness, and it robed me; right-ruling was my cloak and turban.
Then these three men ceased to answer Iyoḇ, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
I am clear, without transgression; I am innocent, and I have no crookedness.
Let us choose what is right for us; let us know among us what is good.
Relent, please, let there be no unrighteousness. Relent! My righteousness is still in it.
Does Ěl twist right-ruling? Or does the Almighty twist what is right?
For He crushes me with a storm, and has multiplied my wounds for no cause.
Why do you say, O Ya‛aqoḇ, and speak, O Yisra’ĕl, “My way is hidden from יהוה, and my rights are overlooked by my Elohim”?
