Look away from him and let him rest, till like a hired man he enjoys his day.
Are not my days few? Then cease! Leave me alone, so that I brighten up a little,
For there is expectancy for a tree, if it is cut down, that it does sprout again, and that its tender branch does not cease.
I have wasted away, I would not live forever. Leave me alone, for my days are a breath.
How long do You not look away from me, nor leave me alone till I swallow my saliva?
Look away from me, That I might brighten up, Before I go away and am no more.
But now יהוה has spoken, saying, “Within three years, as the years of a hired man, the esteem of Mo’aḇ is to be despised with all its great throng, and the remnant be few, small and weak.”
