And Ya‛aqoḇ said to Pharaoh, “The days of the years of my sojournings are one hundred and thirty years. Few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not reached the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their sojournings.”

when you do not know of tomorrow. For what is your life? For it is a vapour that appears for a little, and then disappears –


Your laws have been my songs In the place of my sojournings.


I am a sojourner in the earth; Do not hide Your commands from me.


And Ya‛aqoḇ lived in the land of Mitsrayim seventeen years. So the length of Ya‛aqoḇ’s life was one hundred and forty-seven years.


And after he brought forth Arpaḵshaḏ, Shĕm lived five hundred years, and brought forth sons and daughters.


For we have no lasting city here, but we seek the one coming.


“For we are sojourners and pilgrims before You, as were all our fathers; our days on earth are as a shadow, and without permanence.


So all the days of Methushelaḥ were nine hundred and sixty-nine years, and he died.


Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Master –


And Pharaoh said to Ya‛aqoḇ, “How old are you?”


Look away from me, That I might brighten up, Before I go away and am no more.
