“Bread from Ashĕr is rich, and he gives delicacies of a sovereign.

And Lĕ’ah said, “I am happy, for the daughters shall call me happy.” So she called his name Ashĕr.

Dan, Yosĕph and Binyamin, Naphtali, Gaḏ and Ashĕr.

And of Ashĕr he said, “Ashĕr is most blessed of sons. Let him be accepted by his brothers, and dip his foot in oil.

“From Ashĕr: Paḡ‛i’ĕl, son of Oḵran.

and the sons of Zilpah, Lĕ’ah’s female servant, were Gaḏ and Ashĕr. These were the sons of Ya‛aqoḇ who were born to him in Paddan Aram.

These were the sons of Zilpah, whom Laḇan gave to Lĕ’ah his daughter. And these she bore to Ya‛aqoḇ: sixteen beings.
