So they took Yosĕph’s robe, slew a male goat, and dipped the robe in the blood,
So it came to be, when Yosĕph had come to his brothers, that they stripped Yosĕph of his robe, the long robe which was on him.
And Yisra’ĕl loved Yosĕph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. And he made him a long robe.
and sent the long robe and brought it to their father and said, “We have found this. Please look, is it the robe of your son or not?”
and the one went out from me, and I said, “Truly, he is torn, torn to pieces!” And I have not seen him since.
And they told him, saying, “Yosĕph is still alive, and he is governor over all the land of Mitsrayim.” And Ya‛aqoḇ’s heart ceased, for he did not believe them.
He who hides his transgressions does not prosper, But he who confesses and forsakes them finds compassion.
