The sons of Ya‛aqoḇ came upon the slain, and plundered the city, because they had defiled their sister.

and all their wealth. And all their little ones and their wives they took captive, and they plundered all that was in the houses.

that the singing of the wrong is short-lived, and the joy of the defiled one is but for a moment?

“And now, kill every male among the little ones. And every woman who has known a man by lying with a man you shall kill.
