In the first new moon, which is the new moon of Nisan, in the twelfth year of Sovereign Aḥashwĕrosh, someone cast Pur – that is, the lot – before Haman from day to day, and from new moon to new moon, until it fell on the twelfth month, which is the new moon of Aḏar.

And in the reign of Aḥashwĕrosh, in the beginning of his reign, they wrote an accusation against the inhabitants of Yehuḏah and Yerushalayim.

to establish among them, to perform the fourteenth and fifteenth days of the new moon of Aḏar, yearly,

And the Yehuḏim struck all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, with killing and destruction, and did what they pleased to those who hated them.

The lot is cast into the lap, But every decision by it is from יהוה.

And having impaled Him, they divided His garments, casting lots, that it might be filled what was spoken by the prophet, “They divided My garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots.”
