“From Aro‛ĕr, which is on the edge of the wadi Arnon, and the city that is by the wadi, as far as Gil‛aḏ, there was not one city too high for us. יהוה our Elohim gave all to us.
from the Yardĕn to the sun-rising: all the land of Gil‛aḏ – the Gaḏites, and the Re’uḇĕnites, and the Menashshehites – from Aro‛ĕr, which is by the wadi Arnon, including Gil‛aḏ and Bashan.
For not by their own sword did they possess the land, Neither did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand and Your arm, And the light of Your face, Because You delighted in them.
“And I shall set your border from the Sea of Reeds to the Sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River, for I shall give the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.
“And this land, which we possessed at that time, from Aro‛ĕr, which is by the wadi Arnon, and half the mountains of Gil‛aḏ and its cities, I gave to the Re’uḇĕnites and the Gaḏites.
Siḥon sovereign of the Amorites, who dwelt in Ḥeshbon, ruling from Aro‛ĕr, which is on the bank of the wadi Arnon, from the middle of that wadi, and half Gil‛aḏ, even as far as the wadi Yabboq, the border of the children of Ammon,
and their border was from Aro‛ĕr, which is on the bank of the wadi Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the wadi, and all the plain by Mĕyḏeḇa,
And יהוה gave them rest all around, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers. And not a man of all their enemies stood against them, יהוה gave all their enemies into their hand.
While Yisra’ĕl dwelt in Ḥeshbon and its villages, and in Aro‛ĕr and its villages, and in all the cities along the banks of Arnon, for three hundred years, why did you not recover them within that time?
