And when He had said this, one of the officers who stood by slapped יהושע in the face, saying, “Do You answer the high priest this way?”


And after five days the high priest Ḥananyah came down, with the elders, and a certain speaker – Tertullus. And they brought charges against Sha’ul before the governor.


Now you are raided, O daughter of raiders, a siege has been laid against us. They strike the Judge of Yisra’ĕl with a rod on the cheek.


And Tsiḏqiyahu son of Kena‛anah came near and struck Miḵayehu on the cheek, and said, “Where did the spirit of יהוה pass over from me to speak to you?”


Then they spat in His face and beat Him, and others slapped Him,


And Pashḥur struck Yirmeyahu the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Binyamin, which was by the House of יהוה.


And Tsiḏqiyahu son of Kena‛anah came near and struck Miḵayehu on the cheek, and said, “Which way did the spirit of יהוה pass over from me to speak to you?”


They open wide their mouths at me, in scorn they have stricken my cheeks, they mass themselves together against me.


יהושע answered him, “If I have spoken evilly, bear witness of the evil, but if well, why do you strike Me?”
