And the fighting between the house of Sha’ul and the house of Dawiḏ was long drawn out. But Dawiḏ was going on and was strong, and the house of Sha’ul was going on and was weak.
And it came to be, while there was fighting between the house of Sha’ul and the house of Dawiḏ, that Aḇnĕr was strengthening himself in the house of Sha’ul.
And these were the sons of Dawiḏ who were born to him in Ḥeḇron: The first-born was Amnon, by Aḥino‛am the Yizre‛ĕlitess; the second, Dani’ĕl, by Aḇiḡayil the Karmelitess;
And when Haman related to his wife Zeresh and all his loved ones all that had befallen him, his wise men and his wife Zeresh said to him, “If Mordeḵai, before whom you have begun to fall, is from the seed of the Yehuḏim, you are not going to prevail against him but certainly fall before him.”
For Mordeḵai was great in the palace of the sovereign, and his report spread into all the provinces, for this man Mordeḵai became greater and greater.
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. And these are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you desire to do.
Because we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against authorities, against the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual matters of wickedness in the heavenlies.
