And Benayahu was the son of Yehoyaḏa, son of a brave man from Qaḇtse’ĕl, great in deeds. He struck two lion-like men of Mo’aḇ. And he went down and struck a lion in the midst of a pit on a snowy day.

Now Yo’aḇ was over all the army of Yisra’ĕl, and Benayah son of Yehoyaḏa was over the Kerĕthites and the Pelĕthites,

Was he not the most esteemed of three? And he became their commander, but he did not come to the first three.

And he struck a Mitsrian, an impressive man. And the Mitsrian had a spear in his hand, so he went down to him with a staff, wrested the spear out of the Mitsrian’s hand, and killed him with his own spear.

This is what Benayahu son of Yehoyaḏa did, and had a name among three mighty men.

and Benayahu son of Yehoyaḏa was over both the Kerĕthites and the Pelĕthites, and Dawiḏ’s sons were priests.

“But he has not invited me, me your servant, nor Tsaḏoq the priest, nor Benayahu son of Yehoyaḏa, nor your servant Shelomoh.

Then Tsaḏoq the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benayahu son of Yehoyaḏa, and the Kerĕthites, and the Pelĕthites went down and had Shelomoh ride on Sovereign Dawiḏ’s mule, and took him to Giḥon.

But Tsaḏoq the priest, and Benayahu son of Yehoyaḏa, and Nathan the prophet, and Shim‛i, and Rĕ‛i, and the mighty men who belonged to Dawiḏ were not with Aḏoniyahu.

So the sovereign commanded Benayahu son of Yehoyaḏa, and he went out and fell on him, and he died. And the reign was established in the hand of Shelomoh.

And some Gaḏites separated themselves to Dawiḏ at the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty brave men, men trained for battle, who could handle shield and spear, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as gazelles on the mountains:

and Benayahu son of Yehoyaḏa was over the Kerĕthites and the Pelĕthites. And the sons of Dawiḏ were chiefs at the sovereign’s side.

“Then the chiefs of Eḏom were troubled, the mighty men of Mo’aḇ, trembling grips them, all the inhabitants of Kena‛an melted.

And the cities at the furthest border of the tribe of the children of Yehuḏah, toward the border of Eḏom in the South, were Qaḇtse’ĕl, and Ěḏer, and Yaḡur,
