And it came to be, whenever anyone came near him to bow down to him, that he would put out his hand and take hold of him and kiss him.
Yo’aḇ then went to the sovereign and informed him. And he called for Aḇshalom, and he came to the sovereign and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the sovereign. Then the sovereign kissed Aḇshalom.
And Yo’aḇ said to Amasa, “Peace, my brother?” And Yo’aḇ took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him.
His mouth was smoother than curds, Yet in his heart is fighting; His words were softer than oil, But they are drawn swords.
Though he speaks kindly, do not believe him, For there are seven abominations in his heart.
