In the thirty-eighth year of Azaryahu sovereign of Yehuḏah, Zeḵaryahu son of Yaroḇ‛am began to reign over Yisra’ĕl in Shomeron, for six new moons.

So Yaroḇ‛am slept with his fathers, the sovereigns of Yisra’ĕl. And Zeḵaryah his son reigned in his place.


And all the people of Yehuḏah took Azaryah, who was sixteen years old, and set him up to reign instead of his father Amatsyahu.


In the twenty-seventh year of Yaroḇ‛am sovereign of Yisra’ĕl, Azaryah son of Amatsyah, sovereign of Yehuḏah, began to reign.


So Azaryah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the City of Dawiḏ. And Yotham his son reigned in his place.


And he did evil in the eyes of יהוה, as his fathers had done. He did not turn away from the sins of Yaroḇ‛am son of Neḇat, who had made Yisra’ĕl sin.


Shallum son of Yaḇĕsh began to reign in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziyah, the sovereign of Yehuḏah. And he reigned a month of days in Shomeron.


In the thirty-ninth year of Azaryah sovereign of Yehuḏah, Menaḥĕm son of Gaḏi began to reign over Yisra’ĕl, ten years in Shomeron.


In the fiftieth year of Azaryah the sovereign of Yehuḏah, Peqaḥyah the son of Menaḥĕm began to reign over Yisra’ĕl in Shomeron, for two years.


Because of transgression of a land, Many are its rulers; But by a man of understanding and knowledge, Right is maintained.


And יהוה said to him, “Call his name Yizre‛ĕl, for in a little while I shall revenge the bloodshed of Yizre‛ĕl on the house of Yĕhu, and put an end to the reign of the house of Yisra’ĕl.


“And the high places of Yitsḥaq shall be laid waste, and the set-apart places of Yisra’ĕl shall be destroyed. And I shall rise with the sword against the house of Yaroḇ‛am.”


And יהוה said to Yĕhu, “Because you have done well by doing what is right in My eyes, and have done to the house of Aḥaḇ all that was in My heart, your sons are going to sit on the throne of Yisra’ĕl to the fourth generation.”
