These are the names of the sons of Lĕwi according to their generations: Gĕrshon, and Qehath, and Merari. And the years of the life of Lĕwi were one hundred and thirty-seven.
And these are the registered ones of the Lĕwites according to their clans: of Gĕrshon, the clan of the Gĕrshonites; of Qehath, the clan of the Qehathites; of Merari, the clan of the Merarites.
And Dawiḏ spoke to the leaders of the Lĕwites to appoint their brothers the singers with instruments of song, harps, and lyres, and cymbals, to lift up the voice with joy.
And they brought the ark of Elohim, and set it in the midst of the Tent that Dawiḏ had pitched for it. And they brought ascending offerings and peace offerings before Elohim.
And Dawiḏ and the commanders of the army separated for the service some of the sons of Asaph, and of Hĕman, and of Yeḏuthun, who should prophesy with lyres, with harps, and with cymbals. And the number of the workmen according to their service was:
