and they found rich, good pasture, and the land was broad, undisturbed and safe, for some Ḥamites had dwelt there formerly.

And the sons of Ḥam: Kush, and Mitsrayim, and Put, and Kena‛an.

And they went to the entrance of Geḏor, as far as the east side of the valley, to look for pasture for their flocks,

Then Yisra’ĕl came to Mitsrayim, And Ya‛aqoḇ sojourned in the land of Ḥam.

And He struck all the first-born in Mitsrayim, The first-fruits of strength in the tents of Ḥam,
