“Dan is a serpent by the way, an adder by the path, that bites the horse’s heels so that its rider falls backward.
and of Naphtali one thousand commanders, and with them thirty-seven thousand with shield and spear;
and of Ashĕr, going out to the army, arranging battle, forty thousand;
and Baqbaqqar, Ḥeresh, and Galal, and Mattanyah son of Miḵa, son of Ziḵri, son of Asaph;
And of Dan he said, “Dan is a lion’s cub, that leaps from Bashan.”
