And they tried Ě
“When your fathers tried Me, Have proved Me, though they saw My work.
Therefore the people strove with Mosheh, and said, “Give us water to drink.” And Mosheh said to them, “Why do you strive with me? Why do you try יהוה ?”
And he called the name of the place Massah and Meriḇ
And the mixed multitude who were in their midst lusted greatly, so the children of Yisra’ĕ
And these became examples for us, so that we should not lust after evil, as those indeed lusted.
neither let us try Messiah, as some of them also tried, and were destroyed by serpents,
“Do not try יהוה your Elohim as you tried Him in Massah.
