O יהוה, set a guard for my mouth; Watch over the door of my lips.

Whoever guards his mouth and tongue Guards his life from distresses.

“who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth,”

If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is worthless.

Do not lie to each other, since you have put off the old man with his practices,

So then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath,

For we all stumble in many matters. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the entire body.

He who watches over his mouth guards his being, But he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.

Lying lips are an abomination to יהוה, But those who deal truly are His delight.

The lip of truth is established forever, But a lying tongue is but for a moment.

I have said,“Let me guard my ways Against sinning with my tongue; Let me guard my mouth with a muzzle, While the wrongdoer is before me.”

Having put aside, then, all evil, and all deceit, and hypocrisies, and envyings, and all evil words,

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those loving it eat its fruit.

A false witness does not go unpunished, And he who breathes out lies perishes.

Covetings are in its midst; Oppression and deceit do not vanish from its streets.

And He said, “They are My people, children who do not act falsely.” And He became their Saviour.

The wrong are overthrown, And are no more, But the house of the righteous stands.

That you should turn your spirit against Ě

Seek good and not evil, so that you live. And let יהוה  Elohim of hosts be with you, as you have spoken.
