The cords of the grave were all around me; The snares of death were before me.
The cords of death were around me, And the pains of the grave came upon me; I found distress and sorrow.
“Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, The stream would have gone over our being;
Answer me, O יהוה, for Your kindness is good. According to the greatness of Your compassion, turn to me.
For Your kindness is great toward me, And You have delivered my being From the depths of the grave.
For even man does not know his time. Like fish taken in an evil net, and like birds caught in a snare, so the sons of men are snared in an evil time, when it come down on them suddenly.
“Him Elohim raised up, having loosed the pangs of death, because it was impossible that He could be held in its grip.
