He who commits adultery with a woman lacks heart; He who does it destroys his own life.
And I saw among the simple, I perceived among the youths, A young man lacking heart,
Let marriage be respected by all, and the bed be undefiled. But Elohim shall judge those who whore, and adulterers.
‘Hear this now, O foolish people without heart, who have eyes and see not, and who have ears and hear not:
“You do not commit adultery.
Then Pharaoh said to Yosĕ
“Cast away from you all the transgressions, by which you have transgressed, and make for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Yisra’ĕ
“They were like well-fed horses, every one neighed after his neighbour’s wife.
“Who is simple? Let him turn in here!” As for him who lacks heart, she says to him,
“But he who sins against me injures himself; All who hate me love death!”
“You have destroyed yourself, O Yisra’ĕ
He finds smiting and shame, And his reproach is not wiped away.
Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has understanding, But a rod is for the back of him who lacks heart.
The lips of the righteous shepherd many, But fools die for lack of heart.
He who lacks heart despises his neighbour, But a man of understanding keeps silence.
He who tills his land is satisfied with bread, But he who pursues vanities is lacking heart.
I passed by the field of the lazy, And by the vineyard of the man lacking heart;
So that you make your ear attend to wisdom, Incline your heart to understanding;
