“And do not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the seeing one and twists the words of the righteous.

Both hands are on the evil, to do it well. The prince asks for gifts, the judge seeks a bribe, and the great man speaks the desire of his being. And they weave it together.

For I know your transgressions are many and your sins are great, afflicting the righteous and accepting bribes, and turning aside the poor at the gate.

Your rulers are stubborn, and companions of thieves. Everyone loves bribes, and runs after rewards. They do not defend the fatherless, nor does the cause of the widow reach them.

The voice of יהוה  is with power, The voice of יהוה  is with greatness.

Be exalted, O יהוה, in Your strength! We sing and we praise Your might.

Its rising is from one end of the heavens, And its circuit to the other end; And naught is hidden from its heat.

He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.

For oppression makes a wise one mad, and a bribe destroys the heart.

And the present passed over before him, but he himself spent the night in the camp.

A man’s gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men.
