I wrote to the assembly, but Diotrephes, who loves to be the first among them, does not receive us.

“Salt is good, but if the salt becomes tasteless, how shall you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace among one another.”

neither as being masters over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.

In brotherly love, tenderly loving towards one another, in appreciation, giving preference to each other;
