And they sent up their sweet fragrance there and poured out their drink offerings there.

“Completely destroy all the places where the nations which you are dispossessing served their mighty ones, on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree.

And he sent young men of the children of Yisra’ĕ

And He said, “Take your son, now, your only son Yitsḥ

And he planted a tamarisk tree in Be’ĕ

and does not bring it to the door of the Tent of Meeting, to bring an offering to יהוה  before the Dwelling Place of יהוה, blood-guilt is reckoned to that man. He has shed blood, and that man shall be cut off from among his people,

“And the priest shall sprinkle the blood on the altar of יהוה  at the door of the Tent of Meeting, and shall burn the fat for a sweet fragrance to יהוה.

‘And when these days are completed it shall be, on the eighth day and thereafter, that the priests make your burnt offerings and your peace offerings on the altar, and I shall accept you,’ declares the Master יהוה.”

Only, the people slaughtered at the high places, for a house for the Name of יהוה  had not been built until those days.
