But Yonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of יהוה, and went down to Yapho, and found a ship going to Tarshish. And he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of יהוה.

The message concerning Tsor. Howl, you ships of Tarshish! For it has been destroyed, without house, without harbour. From the land of Kittim it has been revealed to them.

Overflow through your land like the River, O daughter of Tarshish; there is no more strength.

Pass over to Tarshish; wail, you inhabitants of the coastland!

“Because the coastlands wait for Me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, to the Name of יהוה  your Elohim, and to the Set-apart One of Yisra’ĕ

Silver is beaten into plates; it is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the craftsman and of the hands of the smith; draped in blue and purple; all of them are the work of skilled ones.

“And you, son of man, hear what I am speaking to you. Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house, open your mouth and eat what I am giving you.”

“Tarshish was your merchant because of your great wealth. They gave you silver, iron, tin, and lead for your merchandise.

And the Spirit lifted me and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit, while the hand of יהוה  was strong upon me.

And the men were exceedingly afraid, and said to him, “Why have you done this?” For the men knew that he fled from the presence of יהוה, for he had informed them.

And he prayed to יהוה, and he said, “Please, יהוה, was this not what I said while I was in my own land? This is why I went ahead and fled to Tarshish. For I know that You are an Ě

But יהושע  said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the reign of Elohim.”

But Sha’ul thought it not fit to take with them the one who withdrew from them in Pamphulia, and had not gone with them to the work.

“Therefore, Sovereign Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,

And in Yapho there was a certain taught one named Taḇ

And Lod being near to Yapho, and the taught ones having heard that Kĕ

And it became known throughout all Yapho, and many believed on the Master.

And it came to be that he stayed for many days in Yapho with Shimʽ

For if I bring the Good News, it is no boasting for me, for necessity is laid on me, and it is woe to me if I do not bring the Good News!

who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Master and from the esteem of His strength,
