Who would give me a hearing? See, my signature, let the Almighty answer me, and let my accuser write a bill!
Listen closely to my words, and with your ears to what I say.
Why do You hide Your face, and reckon me as Your enemy?
But I would speak to the Almighty, and I delight to reason with Ě
Please lay down a pledge for me with Yourself. Who would strike hands with me?
And He kindled His wrath against me, and He counts me as one of His enemies.
See, I cry, ‘Violence!’ but I am not heard. I cry aloud, but there is no right-ruling.
Let my enemy be like the wrongdoer, and he who rises up against me like the unrighteous.
I cry out to You, but You do not answer me; I stand up, but You only look at me.
Yet does not one in a heap of ruins stretch out his hand, or in calamity cry out for help?
I went about blackened, but not by the sun; I stood up in the assembly, I cried for help.
Would I not take it up on my shoulder, bind it on me for a crown?
See, I am like you before Ě
Although you say you do not see Him, yet right-ruling is before Him, and you wait for Him.
“Should a reprover contend with the Almighty? Let him who reproves Eloah answer it.”
Rule me rightly, O יהוה, For I have walked in my integrity. And I have trusted in יהוה, without wavering.
“Be well-minded with your opponent, promptly, while you are on the way with him, lest your opponent deliver you to the judge, and the judge to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.
