See, I go forward, but He is not; and backward, but I do not perceive Him;
Look, He goes by me, and I do not see; and He moves past, but I do not discern Him.

Why do You stand afar off, O יהוה, hiding in times of distress?
Although you say you do not see Him, yet right-ruling is before Him, and you wait for Him.

to the left where He is working, but I do not see; He turns to the right, but I do not see.
And when He is silent, who would then condemn? And when He hides His face, who then sees Him, whether it is against a nation or a man alone?
