They are like straw before the wind, and like chaff that a storm steals away.

The wrong are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind blows away.

O my Elohim, make them as whirling dust, As stubble before the wind!

Let them be as chaff before the wind, With a messenger of יהוה  driving on.

Would You frighten a leaf driven to and fro? And would You pursue dry stubble?

nations rushing like the rushing of many waters. But He shall rebuke them and they shall flee far away, and be chased like the chaff of the mountains before the wind, like whirling dust before the whirlwind.

“But the crowd of those strange to you shall be like fine dust, and the crowd of the ruthless ones as chaff blowing away. And it shall be in an instant, suddenly!”

“His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He shall thoroughly cleanse His threshing-floor, and gather His wheat into the storehouse, but the chaff He shall burn with unquenchable fire.”

Though they are as entangled thorns, and as drunkards with their drink, they shall be consumed like stubble thoroughly dried.

Therefore they shall be like a morning cloud, and like dew that goes away early, like chaff blown off from a threshing-floor, and like smoke from a window.

“So I shall scatter them like stubble that passes away by the wind of the wilderness.

Hardly have they been planted, hardly have they been sown, hardly has their stock taken root in the earth, when He shall blow on them and they wither, and a whirlwind take them away like stubble.

Therefore, as a tongue of fire devours the stubble, and the flame consumes the chaff, their root is as rottenness, and their blossom goes up like dust – because they have rejected the Torah of יהוה  of hosts, and despised the Word of the Set-apart One of Yisra’ĕ

“And in the greatness of Your excellence You pulled down those who rose up against You. You sent forth Your wrath, it consumed them like stubble.

And if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,

who were cut down before their time, whose foundations were swept away by a flood?

The east wind takes him away, and he is gone; for it sweeps him from his place.

As the whirlwind passes by, The wrong one is no more, But the righteous has an everlasting foundation.

He shall stand and measure the earth. He shall look and shake the nations. And the ancient mountains are shattered, The age-old hills shall bow. His ways are everlasting.

As a fire consumes a forest, And as a flame sets mountains on fire,
