For thus said the Master יהוה, the Set-apart One of Yisra’ĕ

to whom He said, “This is the rest, give rest to the weary,” and, “This is the refreshing.” But they would not hear.

Eloah does not turn back His dis-pleasure, the helpers of pride stoop under Him.

“What shall you do in the day of visitation, and in the ruin which comes from afar? To whom would you run for help? And where would you leave your wealth?

“And the inhabitant of this coastland shall say in that day, ‘See, such is our expectation, wherever we flee for help to be delivered from the sovereign of Ashshur. And how do we escape?’ ”

“They were all ashamed of a people who do not profit them, not for help or profit, but a shame and also a reproach.”

“And how do you refuse one officer of the least of my master’s servants, and put your trust in Mitsrayim for chariots and horsemen?

Trust in a treacherous man in time of distress Is like a broken tooth or a foot out of joint.
