“Only on this condition would we agree to you: If you become as we are, to have every male of you circumcised,

“This is My covenant which you guard between Me and you, and your seed after you: Every male child among you is to be circumcised.

And they said to them, “We are not able to do this matter, to give our sister to one who is uncircumcised, for that would be a reproach to us.

then we shall give our daughters to you, and take your daughters to us. And we shall dwell with you, and shall become one people.

Brothers, I beg you to become as I am, because I am as you are. You did not wrong me at all.
