who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called Elohim or that is worshipped, so that he sits as Elohim in the Dwelling Place of Elohim, showing himself that he is Elohim.

And the Mitsrites are men, and not Ě

Before destruction comes pride, And before a fall a haughty spirit!

Put them in fear, O יהוה, Let the gentiles know they are but men. Selah.

For יהוה  of hosts has a day against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up, so that it is brought low;

In the same way, you younger ones, be subject to elders. And gird yourselves with humility toward one another, for “Elohim resists the proud, but gives favour to the humble.”

Not a new convert, lest he become puffed up with pride and fall into the judgment of the devil.

“See, he whose being is not upright in him is puffed up. But the righteous one lives by his steadfastness.

“Therefore thus said the Master יהוה, ‘Because you have increased in height, and it set its top among the thick foliage, and its heart was lifted up in its height,

“Your heart was lifted up because of your loveliness, you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendour. I threw you to the earth, I laid you before sovereigns, to look at you.

Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty, And before esteem is humility.

But when he became strong his heart was lifted up, to his destruction, for he trespassed against יהוה  his Elohim by entering the Hĕ

that your heart then becomes lifted up, and you forget יהוה  your Elohim who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, from the house of bondage,

“For Elohim knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be like Elohim, knowing good and evil.”

And he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast covered with names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

“As much as she esteemed herself and lived riotously, so much torture and grief give to her, because in her heart she says, ‘I sit as sovereigness, and I am not a widow, and I do not see mourning at all.’

Who has counselled this against Tsor, the crowning city, whose merchants are chiefs, whose traders are the esteemed of the earth?

“And now, hear this, you who are given to pleasures, who dwells complacently, who says in your heart, ‘I am, and there is none but me. I do not sit as a widow, nor do I know the loss of children.’

“See, this was the crookedness of your sister Seḏ

‘And they shall take up a lamentation for you, and say to you, “How you have perished, O one inhabited by seafaring men, the city well-praised, who was strong at sea, she and her inhabitants, who put their fear on all her inhabitants!

And the word of יהוה  came to me, saying,

This is the exultant city that is dwelling in safety, that said in her heart, “I am it, and there is none but me.” How has she become a waste, a place for beasts to lie down! Everyone who passes by her whistles and shakes his fist.

“Speak, and you shall say, ‘Thus said the Master יהוה, “See, I am against you, O Pharaoh sovereign of Mitsrayim, O great monster who lies in the midst of his rivers, who has said, ‘My River is my own, and I, I have made it for myself.’

“And the land of Mitsrayim shall become a desert and a waste. And they shall know that I am יהוה, because he said, ‘The River is mine, and I have made it.’

and he shall capture the army, his heart being exalted. And he shall cause tens of thousands to fall, but not prevail.

“And the sovereign shall do as he pleases, and exalt himself and show himself to be great above every mighty one, and speak incredible matters against the Ě

and have no regard for the mighty ones of his fathers nor for the desire of women, nor have regard for any mighty one, but exalt himself above them all.

and he who invited you and him come and say to you, ‘Give this one place,’ and then you begin with shame to take the last place.
