“If it is torn to pieces, then let him bring it for evidence, he does not repay what was torn.
“But if it is indeed stolen from him, he repays to its owner.
“And when a man borrows from his neighbour, and it is injured or dies while the owner of it is not present, he shall certainly repay.
Then I said, “Ah, Master יהוה! See, I have never defiled myself from my youth till now. I have never eaten what died of itself or was torn by beasts, nor has unclean meat ever come into my mouth.”
Thus said יהוה, “As a shepherd rescues from the mouth of a lion two legs or a piece of an ear, so are the children of Yisra’ĕ
