And in every province where the sovereign’s command and decree came, there was great mourning among the Yehuḏ

And the sovereign’s scribes were called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and a decree was written according to all that Haman commanded – to the viceroys of the sovereign, and to the governors who were over each province, and to the officials of all people, to every province according to its writing, and to every people in their language. It was written in the name of Sovereign Aḥ

“Go, gather all the Yehuḏ

And he went up to the front of the sovereign’s gate, for no one might enter the sovereign’s gate wearing sackcloth.

to establish these days of Purim at their appointed times, as Mordeḵ

And he took a potsherd with which to scrape himself while he sat in the midst of the ashes.

And in that day the Master יהוה  of hosts called for weeping and for mourning, for baldness and for girding with sackcloth.

Therefore I said, “Look away from me, let me weep bitterly. Do not try to comfort me because of the ravaging of the daughter of my people.”

“Is it a fast that I have chosen, a day for a man to afflict his being? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush, and to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Do you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to יהוה ?

and they shall raise their voice and cry bitterly over you, and cast dust on their heads, rolling themselves in ashes.

So I set my face toward יהוה  the Elohim to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes.

And the word reached the sovereign of Ninewĕ

and shall throw them into the furnace of fire – there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

“Then the sovereign said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him out into the outer darkness – there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

‘And throw the worthless servant out into the outer darkness – there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

And Yehoshua tore his garments, and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of יהוה  until evening, both he and the elders of Yisra’ĕ

And the messengers came to Giḇ
