‘But the Mitsrites did evil to us, and afflicted us, and imposed hard labour on us.
So they set slave-masters over them to afflict them with their burdens, and they built for Pharaoh supply cities, Pithom and Raʽ
and they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in mortar, and in brick, and in all kinds of work in the field, all their work which they made them do was with harshness.
“But יהוה has taken you and brought you out of the iron furnace, out of Mitsrayim, to be His people, an inheritance, as it is today.
“For ever since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your Name, he has done evil to this people. And You have not delivered Your people at all.”
And the foremen of the children of Yisra’ĕ
“Let more work be laid on the men, so that they labour in it, and not pay attention to words of falsehood.”
And Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, “Throw every son who is born into the river, and keep alive every daughter.”
and he said, “When you deliver the Heḇ
Then a new sovereign arose over Mitsrayim, who did not know Yosĕ
‘Then we cried out to יהוה Elohim of our fathers, and יהוה heard our voice and saw our affliction and our toil and our oppression.
that our fathers went down to Mitsrayim, and we dwelt in Mitsrayim a long time, and the Mitsrites did evil to us and our fathers.
