And he replied, “Men, brothers and fathers, listen: The Elohim of esteem appeared to our father Aḇ

At my first defence no one stood with me, but all forsook me. Let it not be held against them.

But set apart יהוה  Elohim in your hearts, and always be ready to give an answer to everyone asking you a reason concerning the expectation that is in you, with meekness and fear,

but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defence of the Good News.

It is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, all of you being sharers of the favour with me, both in my chains and in the defence and confirmation of the Good News.

Again, do you think that we defend ourselves to you? We speak before Elohim in Messiah. But all this, beloved, is for your upbuilding.

For see how you have been saddened according to Elohim – how much it worked out in you eagerness; indeed, clearing of yourselves; indeed, displeasure; indeed, fear; indeed, longing; indeed, ardour; indeed, righting of wrong! In every way you proved yourselves to be clear in the matter.

My defence to those who examine me is this:

who show the work of the Torah written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or even excusing,

And it came to be after three days that Sha’ul called the leaders of the Yehuḏ

And while saying this in his defence, Festus said with a loud voice, “Sha’ul, you are mad! Much learning is turning you to madness!”

“To them I answered, ‘It is not the Roman practice to give up any man to destruction before the accused meets the accusers face to face, and has a chance to answer for himself concerning the charge against him.’

while Sha’ul said in his own defence, “Neither against the Torah of the Yehuḏ

And when the governor had motioned him to speak, Sha’ul answered, “Knowing that for many years you have been a judge of this nation, I gladly defend myself,

Now Sha’ul, perceiving that one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, cried out in the council, “Men, brothers, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee, I am being judged concerning the expectation and resurrection of the dead!”

And Sha’ul, looking intently at the council, said, “Men, brothers, I have lived in all good conscience before Elohim until this day.”

And some of the crowd instructed Alexander – the Yehuḏ

“Men, brothers, sons of the race of Aḇ

“Therefore, resolve in your hearts not to premeditate on what to answer.

“And when they bring you to the congregations and rulers and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say,
