So they went to bury her, but all they found of her was the skull and the feet and the palms of the hands.
‘And the dogs are going to eat Izeḇ
And he went in, and he ate and drank, and said, “Go now, see to this cursed one, and bury her, for she was a sovereign’s daughter.”
And they came back and informed him. And he said, “This is the word of יהוה, which He spoke by His servant Ě
Is it not calamity to the perverse, and strangeness to the workers of wickedness?
If a man brings forth a hundred children and lives many years, so that the days of his years are many, but his being is not satisfied with goodness, or indeed he has no burial, I say that a premature birth is better than he,
“He shall be buried with the burial of a donkey, dragged and thrown outside the gates of Yerushalayim.
‘Therefore thus said יהוה concerning Yehoyaqim sovereign of Yehuḏ
And instantly a messenger of יהוה smote him, because he did not give the esteem to Elohim. And becoming worm-eaten, he died.
