“With their evil they make a sovereign glad, and rulers with their lies.
“For the laws of Omri are strictly observed, and all the works of the house of Aḥ
Her rulers in her midst are roaring lions, her judges are evening wolves, they shall leave no bone until morning.
But Shemu’ĕ
even to choose him out of all the tribes of Yisra’ĕ
‘And it shall be that everyone who is left in your house shall come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a cake of bread, and say, “Please, put me in one of the priestly positions to eat a piece of bread.” ’ ”
