“Was it not reported to my master what I did when Izeḇ

of whom the world was not worthy – wandering in deserts and mountains and caves and holes of the earth.

“And the Sovereign shall answer and say to them, ‘Truly, I say to you, in so far as you did it to one of the least of these My brothers, you did it to Me.’

for I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in,

“And the farmers took his servants and beat one, and they killed one, and they stoned another.

“But they became disobedient and rebelled against You, and cast Your Torah behind their backs. And they slew Your prophets who had warned them, to bring them back to Yourself. And they worked great blasphemies.

And he said, “I am not able to return with you or to go in with you, nor am I to eat bread or drink water with you in this place.

And Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. And the sovereign sent a man ahead of him, but before the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, “Do you see how this son of a murderer has sent someone to take away my head? Look, when the messenger comes, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door. Is not the sound of his master’s feet behind him?”

‘And you shall smite the house of Aḥ

“Bring counsel, execute judgment; make your shadow like the night in the middle of the day; hide the outcasts, do not betray him who escapes.

Then the heads said to Baruḵ

And as she was going to get it, he called and said to her, “Please bring me a piece of bread in your hand.”
