Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Or who shepherds a flock and does not feed on the milk of the flock?

He who tends the fig tree eats its fruit; And he who guards his master is esteemed.

‘And who is the man who has planted a vineyard and has not begun to use it? Let him also go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle and another man should begin to use it.

This charge I entrust to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you might wage the good campaign,

“Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Set-apart Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of Elohim which He has purchased with His own blood.

My own vineyard is before me. O Shelomoh, a thousand belongs to you, And two hundred to those who keep its fruit.

And goats’ milk enough for your food, For the food of your household, And sustenance for your girls.

Shepherd the flock of Elohim which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but voluntarily, not out of greed for filthy gain, but eagerly,

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have guarded the belief.

Fight the good fight of the belief, lay hold on everlasting life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession before many witnesses.

And it shall be, that he shall eat curds because of the plenty milk he gets, for everyone left in the land shall eat curds.

“They are to have portion for portion to eat, besides what comes from the sale of his inheritance.
