Then Abraham prayed to God; and God healed Abimelech! He also healed Abimelech’s wife and female servants of their infertility and they began to have babies again.

Now, Rebekah was unable to have children, but Isaac pleaded with Yahweh on behalf of his wife because she was barren—and she did get pregnant, for Yahweh responded to Isaac’s prayer.

When Yahweh saw that Leah was unloved, he opened her womb, but Rachel remained childless.

Jacob became furious with Rachel and said, “Am I God? He’s the one keeping you from bearing children!”

When Esau looked up and saw the women and the children, he said to Jacob, “Who are all these coming behind you?” Jacob replied, “These are the children, your niece and nephews, whom God has so graciously given your servant.”

God’s grace provides for the barren ones a joyful home with children so that even childless couples find a family. He makes them happy parents surrounded by their pride and joy. That’s the God we praise, so give it all to him!

Children are God’s love-gift; they are heaven’s generous reward.

My daughter, don’t worry. I promise to do everything you ask, because everyone knows you’re a brave woman of noble character.

And may Yahweh give you children by this young woman, and through them, may your family be like the family of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah!”
