The Lord thundered and our enemies have been cut off, vanished in everlasting ruins. All their cities have been destroyed— even the memory of them has been erased.

But the Lord has made up his mind to oppose evildoers and to wipe out even the memory of them from the face of the earth.

Yet when holy lovers of God cry out to him with all their hearts, the Lord will hear them and come to rescue them from all their troubles.

“ ‘Have you not learned that I planned all this long ago? Yes, from ages past I planned it, and now I fulfill it, that you would conquer fortified cities and turn them into piles of stones.

I have become your enemy,” says Yahweh, “O mountain of destruction, destroyer of the whole world! I will unleash my power against you, send you tumbling to the ground, and turn you into a mountain of soot and ashes.

And the last enemy to be subdued and eliminated is death itself.

He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent known as the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.
